Newly appointed head coach of Liberty Girls Lacrosse, Leah Sax, has an exciting proposition ahead of her before preseason work for the three-time defending state champion program gets rolling.

Sax is currently in Salou, Spain where she was invited to be an assistant coach for the Latvian Women's National Lacrosse team at the European Sixes Championships. The event takes place from November 2nd to November 9th at the Mediterranean Sports Hub.

The competition features the fast-paced sixes format of lacrosse, with the top five teams in the women's and men's European Championships qualifying for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships as part of the pathway toward the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

"I am excited to bring my coaching experience to the international stage and help grow the game of lacrosse globally," said Coach Sax. Leah will be coaching the Offense and the Draw for the Latvian team. They are in Group A with France, Israel, Poland, and Portugal. The team opens play on November 3rd with a matchup with France.
